TABI - The Story Behind {09} Jatuh Hati

They say people fall in love three times in their lifetime. The idealistic first love, the intense second love, and the unconditional third love. Like its name, {09} Jatuh Hati captures the painfully beautiful stages of being in love. Some are sweet, and some even sting–all of them unforgettable. 

In collaboration with Marchella FP, Alchemist put together a fragrance that feels like a memory you can hold. Known for building scents around stories, they found their muse in Tabi—bottling the quiet, introspective heart of Marchella’s graphic novel into something you can wear.

The fragrance opens with the familiar hint of citrus. Bright, hopeful, like the morning of a new beginning. It softens quickly to a gentle jasmine and ylang-ylang that feels warmer. Then comes the base—patchouli, musk, and amberwood settling heavily in the best way possible, lingering on the skin long after you’ve stopped thinking about it. 

Through her novel, Marchella depicted all forms of love in Tabi’s emotions. She’s young with big feelings, still learning about love. How it comes and goes, how it begins and ends, how to give and to receive it. In {09} Jatuh Hati, she becomes a scent. And the scent becomes a memory you can wear.
