Made of Meaning: Alchemist Artist Collaborations
Every year, as the season turns and the air shifts toward something quieter, Alchemist returns to what it has always believed; that the most meaningful things are made together.
The gifting season marks another chapter in a growing body of collaboration. Over the years, Alchemist has opened its world to artists whose visions align not in style, but in spirit creatives who understand that scent, like art, is never just about what is perceived on the surface. Each limited edition print born from these partnerships carries two signatures: the Alchemist ethos, and the unmistakable hand of the artist behind it.
A meeting of worlds. ink and scent, canvas and skin. Designed not simply to be given, but to be felt. Because the finest gift has never been the object itself. It has always been the intention behind it.
Rukmunal Hakim for Holiday 2023

Through this collaboration, Rukmunal’s piece of art converses around time. A reflection of what we did throughout the past year and also looking forward to what the next year will look like. His artwork implements an abstract visual as time itself is a topic that could be talked about from multiple sides, which also echoes Alchemist slogan “Go Where the Scent Takes you” where human desire and emotions vary and the divine timing itself.
Mutiara Riswari for Al-Fitr 2024

For Mutiara, art becomes a vessel of self exploration. Her artworks use pastel and acrylic, something that grounds her as pastel is the first medium she used and was how she learned about colors. Through her collaboration with Alchemist, she hopes that humans embrace their memories as through them they could express gratitude and manifest peace, and try to become a better individual.
Dede Cipon for Holiday 2024

Dede got inspired by the work “Alchemy” itself, a form of chemistry and speculative philosophy. The idea of small separate molecules that come together then becomes a unit of substance. Mirroring the human behavior of making connections results in the creation of something new.
Lala Bohang for Al-Fitr 2025

It all starts from an imagination of stories or characters for Lala, a strong foundation that would then be developed into visuals. For her collaboration for Al-Fitr 2025 she used two characters; The Girl with Stars on her Head and Stripes Girl. Both characters symbolize the human body as a form of dualism, liberating yet limited at the same time. Within her artwork, she also adopted aspects of ketupat which came from her childhood memories, cooking with family in the backyard of her childhood home. As a whole, her intention for this artwork is to interpret connection in every form.
Eko Bintang for Holiday 2025

When working on this project, Eko Bintang thought of the “Joy of Gifting”. The joyfulness of showing love with objects of affection. His inspiration came from his interest in vintage gift wrappings, how dainty and beautiful they looked, which led to his illustrations that could make a piece of wrapping paper special. Through this collaboration with Alchemist, his art conveys a sense of nostalgia and the spirit of togetherness.
Nourie Flayhan for Al-Fitr 2026

Inspired by traditional Tatreez patterns from Palestine, a reflection of strength and grace passed through generations. Nourie Flayhan is a Lebanese descent illustrator that grew up in Kuwait and now is based in Los Angeles. Nourie has been collecting books about the Palestinian Tatreez patterns which has been documented since its beginning. The pattern itself was how women communicated, how they spoke to one another, becoming storytellers by combining different motifs into one artwork.
